A Night of Stars

Last night I went to a dance called "A Night of Stars" that was truly amazing and I just have to post about it! Most, if not all other people, had to show their ticket when they got there, but I didn't because they knew me. It was from 6 PM to 11 PM with the buffeting opening at 7 PM and the lights dimming for dancing around 8 PM. Frankly, I was surprised at how the majority of the people arrive around 6:45 PM. If you are going to pay for something, I would think you would want to arrive as early as possible to get as much out of it as possible. I myself arrived around 6 PM. As I mentioned earlier, the main meal for the dinner was buffet style. Some parties/dances have a plate that you choose in advance and is served to you specifically. This one started with hors d’oeuvres from the moment it started and was removed shortly after the buffet opened. As people arrived, I could see staff starting to put the buffet together with a fire below them to keep them hot in metal containers and metal covers. I don't overly care about the food, but it was nice for it to be hot. Sometime later that I didn't notice, after the buffet had been cleared away, they brought out some dessert of brownies, cupcakes and some candies. As I'm sure you could guess there was music, this party had a DJ. However, the interesting thing about this music was that in front of the DJ booth was a TV that played the music videos for each song the DJ played. I danced, of course; for several hours straight, in fact. But that's nothing new. Anyone that knows me, or at least reads my Myspace, or posts would have guessed that already and I'm sure you would like to hear new things, not just repeats of stuff you already know. Many good songs were played, except Dancing Queen that is. Cotton-Eyed Joe, Cha-Cha Slide, Fireball, Uptown Funk, and Shut Up and Dance were just some of the many hits that were played. The DJ was even taking requests, though it seemed to be hit or miss as to whether that song would get played or not. Overall, it was a rather enjoyable evening. If there's any details that I may of missed and you want to know about, then by all means ask.
